Events and rewards
How to join events, earn experience for roleplay, file XP and IC reports, and use the bounty board.
For playersYour sim can reward you for taking part in events, for your roleplay, and through awards that staff approve. It picks which of these it uses.
Events
Press Events on Home, if your sim shows it. While an event is running, an Event live notice appears on Home too.
- On now: events running now and coming up.
- Mine: events you’re part of.
- Past: events that have ended.
- Plan: for people allowed to plan events.
Press an event to see when and where it is, who runs it, and its schedule. Then:
- I’m part of this event checks you in. Be in the event’s region with your HUD on. Check-in opens shortly before the start and closes a little after the end.
- I helped make this says you helped run it. Add a note of what you did. Once the organizer confirms you, you can read the Briefing.
- Leave it takes you off the event. Tap it twice.
- Feedback is open to people who took part, until a week after the event. Pick your stars, fill in What went well and What could be better, and press Save feedback. Don’t show my name to the organizer hides your name from them.
When an event ends, it waits for an approver on the website. Approving it can give awards to the people who took part, judged by check-ins and by the emotes made at the event’s place while it ran.
Experience for roleplay
If your sim rewards roleplay, it counts your emotes on its own:
- Emote on your RP channel. Settings, then Set Channels, shows which one it is.
- The HUD posts your emote in local chat under your character’s name.
- An emote of 20 characters or more is logged. The log keeps its length, a fingerprint of the text, where you were and who was near you. The words you wrote aren’t stored.
- Later, the server groups emotes made near other players into scenes, and a scene that lasts long enough earns experience.
Your sim sets the rules: which regions count, the gap between counted emotes, and caps per scene, per day and per week. Repeating the same emote doesn’t count again for a while. Some sims pay a little money with the experience.
XP and IC reports
Press Reports on Home, if your sim shows it:
- XP Report asks staff for an award. Pick a Reward Type, add people under Who was Involved, write a Report Title and the Report Data, then press Submit Report. Press a name under Selected Characters to take it off.
- IC Report records something that happened in character, under a Report Type. It doesn’t ask for experience.
- View Reports shows reports for people near you, if you’re allowed to see them.
You can also file and read these on your sim’s website, under Awards and Reports.
Awards
Staff review each XP report. An approved award pays the experience its type is worth. Your sim may cap how much you get from awards each week. Experience also counts as influence for group ranks, covered in Groups and ranks.
The bounty board
Press Bounties on Home, if your sim shows it.
- Board lists open bounties: who’s wanted, for how much, and whether it’s Legal or Illegal.
- Post puts one up. Find the person under Wanted (character or SL name), enter the Amount and a description of what you want and how to reach you in character. Choose On behalf of (Personal or a group you belong to) and when it Ends, then press Post bounty.
- Mine lists bounties you posted and your claims.
The amount is an offer. You pay it in character, and the board doesn’t take it from you.
Every bounty starts Illegal. Press Ask for legal when posting, or on your bounty later, to ask the authorities to make it Legal. Anonymous hides your name on the board.
To collect a bounty, open it, add a Note with your claim and press Claim it. The person who posted it can Accept your claim, which marks it collected, or Turn down. You can Withdraw claim while it waits.
